With pen in hand and you in mind
I sit down to make a start
To Open up the Windows
So you can see my heart
When I am Blessed to, write a poem
You can be sure it's true
God's given me a message
To pass along to you
Nearly 19 years ago
Oh, the years have gone so fast
I first senn my baby sister
Through the hospital nursery glass
Such a tiny babe you were
And my heart filled with pride
Just what I wanted for so long
My tears I could not hide
You were always good at homework
And I've never failed to say
"My sister does so well in school
This month she made straight "A's"
Though there's many miles between us
The feeling's always there
The loving and the closness
That only sisters share
Yes there's many times you've made me proud
While down life's road we've trod
But they can't compare with the pride I felt
When you give your heart to God
There'll still be many potholes
With ups and downs and all
But now God walks beside you
Should you ever slip and fall
Now I love you more than ever
If possibly it could be
Now we'll always be together
When you go home with me
