Little Girl

June bugs buzzin' around my head
As I play here in the sand
A little girl, so at home
In this old Kentucky land

Sweet contentment, happy days
I swing here on the tree
Eat raspberries from a nearby bush
Nobody as happy as me

Something broke into my world
Where's your daddy little girl
Gone away for a long long time
He said she's no little girl of mine

June bugs buzzin' around my head
As I stand here in the rain
I would ask Daddy to come back home
But I know it would be in vain
