Did You Think To Pray

What all did you accomplish this week
In the rushing of life’s fleeting ways
How much time did you give to God
He gave to you seven days

Did you take time as you sit down to eat
To thank Him for plenty of food
Or gave yourself credit for working it out
Or maybe just in a bad mood

Did you take time to thank the Lord
For healthy children so sweet
Or were you in a hurry to get chores done
And sent them to play down the street

Did you take time to thank the Lord
For the clothes you wear all the time
For your air conditioning in the summer
For warmth in the wintertime

Did you thank Him for your husband or wife
Deep down you love them so true
But there wasn’t time to tell them
There’s simply too much to do

Did you sit in church on Sunday morning
While the Preacher preached so fine
Did you look at your watch and wish he’s hush
He was taking up too much time

Did you take time to speak to the church
And tell all the Lord’s done for you
Did you tell them He gave you a good life
And strong hands to do all you do

Did you tell them He gave you a fine family
And Blessed you beyond compare
Or was you ashamed to say it out loud
There were just too many there

The preacher was really bringing the meaning out
Of the Word of God so true
But why did he have to hold so long
There was so much at home to do

Can you stop long enough to take my advice
That’s sent to my heart from the Lord
Remember when you reach the judgment
You will receive a "just" reward

When you face God on that final day
And you say "I’ve been faithful and kind"
He said "I was going to write your name
In the Lambs Book of Life, but I never found the time

You were ashamed to call my name
Aloud for all to hear
Now I am ashamed to call yours
There’s no room for you here

I gave you seven days a week 24 hours a day’
I ask for Praise and devotion as you awoke each day
Two hours on the Sabbath to worship with your fellowman
I’m sorry I just can’t find your name
Think about it and you’ll understand
