By the time I got there, I had seen cars that had slid out of the road and the road was
already slippery. I thought I would just stay for the next few nights if necessary. I
wasn't going to drive back home in this. I parked my car in the parking garage and just made
it to Dad's hospital room , when his Dr. walked in and released him. It was nearly 4 PM,
I had 2 tires on my car that wasn't up to par for the ice. I wondered how I could start on
a sixty mile trip with a man this sick on solid ice. He had only been out of ICU for 2 days.
I called my Mom and Sister and they had a prayer chain going in no time. I tried to
talk the Dr. into keeping him till morning but to no avail. I knew the illness and the
weakness of Dad and also the timng would be crucial to get him home and not stranded
somewhere on a country road.

When I got the necessary papers signed, we started home. The roads grew slicker by
the mintue. At one point we were trying to go up a grade and I was barely moving, other
cars were going around me on each side. I stopped at a pharmacy about half way home to get
his meds. It was nearly dark when we started up a winding hill is a rural area. It was very
narrow and slanted. On the second curve, my car slid crosswise the road and nearly hit
the guardrail on the opposite side. I let the car roll backwards and tried it again. After
three attempts failed, I was sure we'd never make it. There were no houses close and no
traffic on the road at all. All of a sudden a man came up behind my car on the driver's side.
I could see him smiling, if he ever spoke, I never heard him. At the time I thought
someone else was with him, although I never actually seen anybody else. The blonde
man was who I could plainly see and will be etched in my memory forever.

In my own earthly mind at the time, I was thinking someone had just driven up behind me
and had got out to help. I told him my Dad had just been released from the hospital,
and I desperately needed to get him home. He took hold of the back of my car, still kind of
on the driver's side but farther in the back. He held that car in the road and walked
all the way to the top of the hill. I never stopped, for fear I couldn't get to
moving again on the ice. But I yelled out my window how much I appreciated him for what
he had done.

There was never a car that come on behind us When I got home and slowed my mind down
enough to think about it. No ordinary man could have stood up on solid ice, and surely
could not have held a car in the road, up a hill, with two slick tires on the back.
Where did he go? Was he alone? Had I seen anybody else? No.....How was he traveling?
Later, Mom questioned around in their small area and no one had been out that night or ever
acknowledged that they had helped us

That is proof enough to me that my God reigns. I still get chills every time I tell it
God has angels watching over us. In the Book of Hebrews, it says "Be not forgetful to
entertain Strangers, for thereby, some have entertained angels unawares". How many
times do we read of angels in the Bible? I love the Lord with all my heart, soul and
being. He's my Rock in a Weary land and my Shelter in the time of storm. I know
that when it comes my time to cross over, my Lord will be holding to my hand. Praise be
