It Was Me

Who was born of a virgin birth

Who fulfilled His Father's Will

Who bled and died there on the cross

Up there on Calvery's Hill

Who was mocked, scorned and spat upon

For a cheering crowd to see

Who was nailed to the Rugged Cross

Our sinful souls to free

Who was it healed the leper

Who made the blind to see

Who's sweat became as drops of blood

There alone in Gesemane

Who, you ask, or do you know

This gentle Friend of mine

He loves me and stays by my side

No other friend so kind

So if you know Him PRAISE THE LORD

For all the world to see

Tho if you don't ,then gently ask

Jesus will say "It Was Me"
