The Picture of the Cross

Matthew 27:50-52
Jesus, when He had cried again with a loud voice yielded
up the ghost: And behold the veil of the temple was rent
in twain from the top to the bottom: and the earth did
quake and the rocks rent: And the graves were opened and
many bodies of the saints which slept arose.

A Rose was taken from among the thorns
It was the only perfect one you see
He hung and died upon the cross
To save an imperfect human like me

No greater love hath any man,
Than He who lays His life down
For a vile and sinful generation
But yet He never made a sound

He was raised as a carpenter's son
Creating, building with His Hands
Yet He could make the blind to see
And make the cripples to stand

Jesus chose the road to Calvary
To filfill His Father's perfect plans
Yet He felt the pain of each nail
He bled and died like any man

But He was God's only Son
To carry out the plan of Salvation
What precious thoughts of a man like tihs be
That so willingly endured this situation

No greater love hath ever been
Before or after you see
Sweet Jesus, My Master of all
You gave your life on the cross for me
