Prayer At Gethsemane

Matthew 25:34-40

Then shall the King say unto them on the right hand,
Come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom,
prepared for you from the foundation of the world;
For I was hungered and you gave me meat, I was thirsty
and you gave me drink: I was a stranger and you took me in.
Naked and ye clothed me, I was sick and ye visited me:
I was in prison and ye came unto me: Then shall the righteous
answer Him saying: When saw we three hungered and fed thee?
Or thirsty and gave thee drink? And when saw we thee a
stranger and thee took me in? or naked and clothed thee?
Or when saw we thee sick or in prison and come unto thee?

And the King shall answer and say unto them Inasmuch as ye
have done it to one of the least of these my brethen:
ye have done it unto myself.KJV

All those who journey, soon or late,
Must pass within the garden's gate;
Must kneel alone in darkness there,
And battle with some fierce despair.
God pity those who cannot say:
"Not mine but thine"; who only pray:
"Let this cup pass", and cannot see,
The purpose in Gethsemane.~~

All ye shall be offended because of me this night
Was the words of my Savior before the awful plight
He talked to His disciples and explained all the plan
The time was drawing near for to kill the Son of Man

They went into a garden called Gethsemane
He asked His disciples please pray with me
He ask His loving Father if it could be His will
Let this cup pass of the plans on Calvery’s Hill

Jesus poured out His heart to His Heavenly Father
Although with him He had taken others
His sweat became as great drops of blood they say
Only to find the others hadn’t stayed awake o pray

Could ye not watch with me this hour with comfort I do seek
I know the spirit’s willing it’s your flesh that is so weak
Three times I have prayed and three times you have slept
I am doing what my Father wants His orders I have kept

Just sleep on now and take your rest my hour is soon at Hand
AS the Roman Soldiers all surrounded To arrest the Son of Man
They took Him to the high priest there all the crowd yelled crucify
In a trial of shame and mockery they decided He must die

After they had mocked him and a crown of thorns He wore
He made His way up Calvery’s Hill where the cross he bore
He did this all for you and me the way God had chose
They placed Him in a borrowed tomb in three days He arose

Are you asleep like Peter do you not call His name
He suffered so that we might live He loves us each the same
As every sinner in this world we should take the blame
While He prayed alone in Gethsemane Praise His Holy Name

He ascended back to Heaven but I can feel Him so near
But He’s coming back again to get His children that are here
Before Him he’ll gather all nations He’ll separate one from another
The goats on the left side the sheep all with the Father

He paid the price and He’ll return in a cloud of Glory you’ll see
But I can’t forget the night he spent there in Gethsemane
Where as his sweat turned into blood He pled for you and me
He saved my soul and made me whole Thank God He set me free
