Daughter

I held a baby girl one tme
Could not believe, she's really mine
I held her up close to my heart
I promised her we'd never part

But, years flew by, as they usually do
My little girl starts to school
Pretty Princess, Daddy's girl
I wish I could give her the world

Parties, proms and sweet sixteen
I don't understand what she means
She don't need Mom, she's on her own
Lord, please bring her safely home

With God's sweet Grace and Mercy too
She's become a woman, tried and true
She's become a mother, Oh, what a thrill
Smetimes, she's my little girl still
