~*Foot Of The Cross*~

Luke 23: 34-37
Then said Jesus, Father forgive them for they
know not what they do. And they parted his
raniment and cast lots .And the people stood
beholding, and the rulers also with them
derided him saying :He saved others let Him
save Himself, if He be the Christ, the chosen
God. And the Soldiers also mocked Him coming
to Him and offering Him vinegar.

A Savior was born 2000 years ago or more
He was raised by a carpenter both humble and poor
He grew up as a normal man and no one knew
Of all the miracles God had sent Him to do

He was at His Father’s business by the age of twelve
He began witnessing and did His job well
He was baptized by John in Jordan’s old stream
God’s voice like thunder said He was well pleased

Many miracles performed and the dumb made wise
The cripples to walk and the dead made to rise
The sick were healed and the blind made to see
Devils trembled in presense of this man of Galilee

He knew time was passing,He would soon have to die
He tried telling his Disciples all kept asking “why”?
In Gethsemane’s Garden his sweat became blood
He prayed so hard where the Roman Soldiers stood

But the seized my Jesus and took him for to die
Knowing he was innocent but they yelled “crucify”
With 3 rusty old spike nails in his feet and hands
It was nearly more agony than He could stand

As the pain worsened He cried out you see
Father, if it be Thy will, let this cup pass from me
For six long hours he suffered on the cross
The God turned His head and Jesus gave up the ghost

Laid in a borrowed tomb with a stone o’er the door
But in three days He arose forevermore
Ascended back to the Father but will return again
Gathering His saved ones to take back with Him

Why? You ask did this all have to be
Jesus gave Himself as an offering to save you and me
He freely gave His sweet life so that we might live
Never a more Precious gift has ever been give
