The First Christmas

Somehow I feel we are all confused
Of what the day stands for
If one ask a small child
I wonder if they'd know

That one day long ago
Because no room was at the inn
A tiny King came into the world
To save us all from sin

Even the Shepherd's tending their sheep
Heard the wonderful news
Three wise men were also told
Some gifts they did choose

Where is this Christ Child they said
Thinking surely in finest
But found him in a stable
Because of the innkeeper's kindness

They had no trouble finding Christ
I found the Christ Child too
He so wonderfully saved my soul
He'll do the same for you

So leave part of the tinsel and frilly gifts
Tell the children why we celebrate
Feed someone that's hungry
It'll male your heart feel great

If you have not already done so
To God's love impart
That would be the happiest Birthday
To give to him your heart
