On Heaven's Bright Shore

Suffer No More

Right through the intersection
The drunkard's car it sped
Paying no mind to the red light
As the police chase he led

A little girl with golden hair
Was crossing in the night
When the car it brought her down
Oh what a painful sight

She had no Mama or Daddy
No home to call her own
Her food was from the garbage
As she roamed the street alone

She was so cold and ragged
As she was searching food
When suddenly in her vision
A beautiful angel stood

She barely felt any pain
It al happened so fast
But she felt loving Blessed arms
Around her at last

Never had she looked upon
Such beauty to behold
She was no longer cold and hungry
As the angel too her to hold

She gently told her all was well
To Heaven's land they'd soar
Where all was peace and Happiness
She's be hungry no more

The drunkard got the car stopped
TO see what he had done
As the police snapped the handcuffs
They knew he was on the run

They seen the little girl with the golden curls
Lying so very still and cold
He feel to his knees and begged God please
To tell him it wasn't so

Little did he know the little one that's gone
Was being rocked by Jesus in a brand new home
This was merely a body that held no soul
She was in the arms of Jesus now forever to hold

They heard him scream "Forgive me Lord"
As they led him away that time
His cries were heard far and near
"That baby girl was mine"
