1Sa 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest
to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield:
but I come to thee in the name of the LORD
of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel
whom thou hast defied.
1Sa 17:48 And it came to pass, when the Philistine
arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that
David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.
1Sa 17:49 And David put his hand in his bag, and
took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the
Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk
into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.
1Sa 17:50 So David prevailed over the Philistine
with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine,
and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.

~*Battle Scarred Soldier*~

I am just a soldier in God's mighty army
Obeying orders the best that I can
The enemy is raging but I'm still pressing onward
This battle scarred soldier I am

I've fought many battles down through the ages
Many times I've failed the commands
There's times I've been wounded and my labors hampered
For this battle scarred soldier I am

The enemy is closer and they're all around me
But I must find the strength to still stand
I call to my General and He sends reenforcements
To this battle Scarred soldier I am

I am growing weary soon is time I can rest
As I reach for God's Mighty Hand
But until He calls me I stand at attention
This battle scarred soldier I am

When this war is ended I'll be shipped out
To a perfect and peaceful new land
I'm looking forward to receive my new medals
For this battlescarred soldier I am

I'll lay down my weapons and greet my Commander
When before the General I stand
I hope I will hear him say welcome Soldier
To this battle scarred soldier I am

Come on fellow soldiers don't give up the battle
You can hang on I know that you can
I'll see you in Glory when I have been discharged
For a battlescarred soldier I am
