The Promise

I've been on the road to Heaven for many years
I've had many Blessings and shed many tears
The end for me is nearing; it's almost at the door
I've got my mind on Heaven: that's what I'm aiming for

Now here the loads are heavy that I carry day by day
Sometimes I often stumble and cannot find my way
But Jesus always shows up: this man from Galilee
Puts me on the narrow road He takes good care of me

The signs of the times now are a disturbing fact
The nation's is so sinful the word of God it lacks
We need a great revival to spread throughout the land
Teaching of Salvation and of the Son Of Man

I have no doubt I'll make it: my way's been paid for me
When Jesus died long ago upon a Dogwood tree
I like to let my light shine and witness to all men
Please won't to turn to Jesus:let Him enter in

He saves your weary soul from the darkest of sin
Put peace inside your heart like no other my friend
He's prepared a mansion for each of us to dwell
You must resist the devil: he'll drag you straight to hell

But in Heaven's City there's pure and perfect peace
We can sing God's Praises:time will never cease
I'll sit down and have a talk with old James and John
AS I journey thru this beauty while the ages roll on

O can you imagine the glory that awaits
As I enter my mansion I will not hesitate
By eye of faith I see it with my loved ones as my side
As I take up my abode forever to reside
