~*Linda, Delcie And Me*~

Oft times I go back in time
And sweet memories I survey
Of my favorite childhood playmates
And how we spent our days

Three little girls with big dreams
That can't possibly come true
At least they believed it then
For our treasures were but few

We all lived in the country
Knew what it meant to have less
But we all had loving families
And they really done their best

So we pretended and dreamed dreams
Of riches that were to come
We enjoyed many happy moments
Of the days when we were young

I remember Grandpa's pumpkin patch
And the pies that were baked in winter
And all three on that little pony
With his poor back swayed in the center

Not one worry on our minds
As we run true and free
We shared all our secrets
Those two girls and me

Sometimes we got mischievous
And broke the golden rule
Many times we got caught for giggling
While we were yet in school

Oh just thinking of those days
Makes this old heart sing
Of all the Blessed joy
Our younger years did bring

Now we are growing older
Grandmothers now are we
But we've always kept that friendship
Glowing for the three

All down through the ages
No matter what comes or goes
We been tried, proved true and trusted
And everybody knows

Yes, our life was really something
But now the frost is on the pumpkin
Nevertheless we are all still friends
We are joined at the heart until the end

The three Musketeers are still around
Reaching to help the other when she's down
I call that a friendship forever that will be
For 3 little girls, Linda, Delcie and me
