Look deep within my heart Lord
See the Peace and Joy you've given
I'm an old time Christian Pilgrim
Well on my way to Heaven
Many miles I have traveled
Many tears have fallen on my cheeks
But each day it all looks better
As you in my heart I keep
Though the path sometimes gets rocky
I may have many more hills to climb
I'm clinging to that lifeline
And I'll not be left behind
Christian children keep on praying
There's a brighter day ahead
Keep an eye on the Eastern sky
He's coming back just like He said
All at once the clouds will roll back
As a surprise to every one
Only God knows the day and the hour
But we know for sure he'll come
We can see Him ascending
Oh what a glorious sight
It may be in the morning
Or like a thief in the night
Those that are ready will be changed
In a twinkling of an eye
All His church will ascend with him
Many more will be left to cry
What a feeling to go to Glory
And enter in with my Savior
Sinners fall down on your knees
He's still waitin' to save you
