~What Christmas Is~

Matthew 1-21
And she shall bring forth a son
And thou shall call His name JESUS
For He shall save His people from their sins

Born in a manger over two thousand years ago
Wrapped in swaddling clothes, most humble I know
Only a few present at this virgin birth
But never such a baby ever born here on earth

Earthly son of a carpenter , that accepted this way
For Joseph knew God had a plan someday
Beloved by his Mother, Mary young and sweet
He would be a mentor to all He would meet

The Will of His Father was His only goal
To give His young life to save all the souls
To all that will accept Him into their heart
With His Mercy that He showed from the start

By the age of twelve years He had started His walk
But in a lot of the cities, to Him they did mock
Nobody believed Him to be God’s Chosen Son
But the latter was proved by the deeds that He done

He was baptized by John in Jordan one day
God’s love , like a dove , descended they say
What an awesome voice of God then so loud
Like thunder it sounded to tell Jesus He was proud

Although upon this earth not long He could stay
The Roman Soldiers came and they took Him away
He had a mock trial and was then crucified
In torture so hideous, my Dear Savior died

But only three days in a tomb He did lay
He arose glorified and He conquered the grave
To some they were frightened but it was all planned
The Blessed Resurrection of the Great Son of Man

He ascended back to Heaven to His Father one day
He said I’ll send a Comforter but I must go away
Just as He promised on the Day of Pentecost
When Peter was preaching to all that was lost

Like a great rushing wind the Holy spirit did flow
For a sweet consolation to all men below
Jesus, as they seen Him was no longer there
But He sent us the Spirit to show that He cared

Where would I be without Him, The Savior of my soul
Where would I now be headed if He hadn’t made me whole
He’s my comfort, my Redeemer, and Jesus to all
Please wont you be ready to answer His call

He is coming again but for sure, not to stay
It’s to gather His Church and with them soar away
To a much better land with no sickness or fears
To comfort the soul and to wipe away all tears

So on Jesus’ birthday, don’t forget the reason
Without His lowly birth, there’s be no Christmas season
He was willing to die so the world could be saved
TO this world a ransom, God planned it that way

When you open your gifts this year or the next
Be sure to thank Him for how much you’re Blessed
He looked past our faults, with only love He sees us
What a glorious thought, Happy Birthday Jesus
