The Angel

A woman I know that works so hard
But her bills just couldn't be met
She worried she prayed and did all she could
A season she'd never forget

Her children nearly grown were giving her worry
She thought she'd reached her wits end
Then one day at the restaurant she worked
A kindly tall man he walked in

He had long flowing hair and an old hat
But the sweetest smile you could see
He stayed over a half hour
But never ordered anything to eat

He counseled her and comforted her
Her burdens lifted after the talk
She hadn't even thought he hadn't eat
As he turned and left with a slow walk

Who was this strange one she'd encountered
How did he know she had so much grief?
Then she realized that God sent an angel
To help her in her time of need

Her heart was much lighter as she went back to work
Sleep even come better that night
She was so comforted that God was so near
She knew everything would be alright
