~*Old Fashion Baptizing*~

Mark 1: 3-11 The voice of one crying in the wilderness
Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight
John did baptize in the wilderness and preach
The baptism of repentence for the remmission of sins

And they went out unto him all the land of Judea
And they of Jerusalem and were all baptized of him
in the river of Jordan confessing their sins

And John was clothed of camel hair with a girdle
Of skin about his loins and he did eat locusts and wild honey

And preached saying there cometh one mighter
than I after me the lachet of whose shoes I am
not worthy to stoop down and unloose

I indeed have baptized you with water but
He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost
And it came to pass in those says that Jesus
Came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized
of John in Jordan And straightway coming up out of
He water he saw the Heavens opened and
Spirit like a dove desending upon him
And there came a voice from Heaven saying
"Thou art my Beloved Son in whom I am well Pleased

Did you ever see an old fashion baptizing
The kind from down by the creek
The spirit and beauty none can compare
Not even the words can I speak

It is where a sinner saved by grace
But not to wish away his sins
When they accept Jesus into their heart
The soul is already cleansed

It is a commandment of our Dear Lord
To carry these works on
In the rushing waters of Jordan
Jesus was baptized by John

We all gather round and sing an old hymn
As the preachers leads the saints
In the muddy water of a country creek
And the rest stands on the banks

The Preacher then talks to God above
In the obedience of Thy command
He buries them under the water there
Approved by God’s Blessed Hand

Oh what a sight and the spirit is free
When you witness such as this
The Blessings are many there’s not a dry eye
It’s something you don’t want to miss

They’re raised to walk in the newness of life
With God standing right by their side
He’ll never leave or forsake them
If always in Him they abide

It’s been many years but it’s clear in my mind
Where the Blessings I did seek
God never fails for His spirit availed
In my baptizing down at the creek
